GDPR Information Clause for Participants of the International Conference on Organic and Nanohybrid Functional Materials (ICON FM)

• Personal Data Administrator The administrator of the provided personal data is the Silesian University of Technology, hereinafter referred to as the University, with which you can contact in writing at the address: ul. Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice, or via email: RR1@polsl.pl.
• Data Protection Officer The administrator has appointed a data protection officer whom you can contact on all matters regarding the processing of personal data in writing at the address: ul. Akademicka 2A, 44-100 Gliwice, or via email: iod@polsl.pl.
• Purposes of Processing Personal data are processed for the purpose of registering participation in the conference, communicating with participants in order to organize the conference, and, if consent is given, to receive information about conferences and events with a scientific profile or promoting science organized by the Silesian University of Technology – also to send such information in the future.
• Legal Basis for Processing The processing is based on the premises resulting from Art. 6 (1) letter e (performance of a task carried out in the public interest) of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) and the provisions of the Act of July 20, 2018, on Higher Education and Science. – regarding personal data contained in the registration form and, in the case of the image and sending information about events organized by the University, Art. 6 (1) letter a – consent of the data subject.
• Withdrawal of Consent You may withdraw your consent at any time by sending a request via email to: kontakt@icon-fm.pl, which does not affect the legality of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
• Period of Personal Data Storage Personal data will be stored for the period resulting from the uniform material list of files developed based on the Act of July 14, 1983, on the national archival resource and archives. In the case of personal data processed on the basis of consent, personal data will be processed as above until the consent is withdrawn.
• Recipients of Data Personal data will not be disclosed to other entities except for entities authorized by law. Personal data in the form of the image will be made available on the University’s website and social media.
• Rights Related to the Processing of Personal Data You have the right to access the content of your data, their rectification, restriction of processing, and deletion of data, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority dealing with the protection of personal data, i.e., the President of the Personal Data Protection Office.
• Information on Automated Decision-Making Your data will not be subject to automated decision-making, including profiling.

Furthermore, we inform that in order to document the Conference, photographs and videos may be taken during its course, which may be published on websites and in publications belonging to the Silesian University of Technology and the following portals:

  In case the event is organized using an online platform that allows audio and video recording, and you do not consent to the use and dissemination of your image for informational and promotional purposes of the Silesian University of Technology, please refrain from turning on the camera during the event.
